I went on the forum with IE today just to see exactly how bad the Ad problem was and was quite amazed! A big ugly banner at the top of the page and big ads at the top or bottom of threads right in th middle of someones post. Quite honestly it's pathetic. I hate ads and always have and I think most people feel the same way. But it doesn't have to be like that. You can surf ad free if you want and get rid of those ugly banners and other annoying ads in just a few short minutes and it all starts with downloading the fastest, safest and most secure Browser on the planet FIREFOX, not to mention the added customization of it is unprecedented. No browser even comes close!

Here are some examples of what I am talking about. With IE (Internet Explorer) this is what you see at the top of this forum:

It's ugly and unsightful and just down right an eyesore.

This however is what you see with Firefox:

Much better don't you think? And this applies to everysite not just this one.

Here are some more examples. This is what you see using IE when you browse the threads and posts:

You will never see any of that using Firefox. Those ads you see in IE are the most ugly annoying things ever. Not only are they ugly, but they are huge and they stick them right in the middle of our conversations???? How rude could they get?

And how many times have you been to sites that are covered with annoying FLASH animation ads and banners? You know the ones. They have all this color and they blink and they whirl all in a desperate bid to get your attention while they consume your bandwith and slow down your surfing. Ya those stupid things. Here are what they look like in IE. This page almost made me dizzy!

See the 6 or 7 little banners on the left and the stupid animated talking lady on the right? All 6 of those little ads were flashing and spinning and whirling like mad and that lady was moving and chatting and distracting the hell out of me.

And this is what you see with Firefox:

All the little banners shut down and that stupid talking lady telling you that you won something is gone. If you do want to see what's underneath just click the F symbol in the middle of the animation.

So then, how can you make your surfing ad-free also and get rid of all the sight polution and spam people try to stick in your face everyday? Simple. You start by getting FireFox. Here is a link for you to the newest, safest and fastest version. Way safer then surfing with IE. It even blocks phishing attempts and will warn you of a dangerous site you are about to goto that may harm your computer or infect it so you don't go there.
http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/

Then after you install that you just need a couple tiny addons to enhance it. The first one is called AdBlock Plus which will erase all those stupid ads google and others like to post everywhere. Here is the link to that:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

And to get rid of the annoying flash animations you get FlashBlock
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433

That's all there is to it. You can turn flashblock on and off as you wish while you surf in case you do wish to see some ads. And AdBlock Plus will block the ads and banners and any other content from sites you use regularly so you needn't look at them again. And on top of it all, FireFox has thousands of addons just like these two that will do anything from spellcheck everything you type to ZoomFox which lets you zoom in or out any picture you come across on the web quickly in just one click.

And FF comes with already built in multiple tab functionality. If you get the cool little program SessionSaver then you can shut down firefox and have it reopen the next time with every one of your tabs that you had open before. Also it's great if you accidentally close a tab. No problem, just click the SessionSaver icon and the closed tab opens right back up. Or have you ever been typing a LONG post like this one and the computer crashes and you lost all that typing you just did? Not anymore because when you restart FF it will open the last opened tabs and there you will find your letter or post you thought you lost ready for you to continue.

So many other great addons also, but I will post them and what they do another time. In the meantime, you owe it to yourself to get firefox and start enjoying the web the way it was meant to be enjoyed, your way and ad and flash free.

If you have any questions please just post them here and I or any other Firefox users will be glad to help. Enjoy!

Wow I never knew Firefox did that!! I was using Firefox, but my pc has been acting up and Ive not been able to use it since I opened my forum lol typical huh. Everyone is raving about Firefox, saying how unstable IE is, but I'm just amazed about the add thingy!!

I recently picked up a nasty from IE and my pc almost stopped, i joined a site that Piriform runs, the makers of CCleaner, and after following their guidance ive managed to rid my pc of all its nasties, and its runnign like a new pc! I was amazed. I had to download and install several spyware programmes, but was well worth it, they too told me to get MozillaFirefox..deffo worth it's weight in gold

Yes it certainly is. And I hate to sound like some company rep pushing there product but it really is the best and soooo many people complain all the time about all the ads and stuff and they are so simple to get rid of with the FF browser. You just have to make sure that you install those couple little addons. You click install and it takes less then 20 seconds. FF then asks you to close it and it reopens again with those adons ready to go.

I'm not sure why your FF won't work now but try clicking that FF install link and downloading the newest version. Probably IE is not letting it work so after you start up FF make sure to click Tools at the top of it and then Options and make FF your default browser. That should work. And it's also good to clean out your browser memory or cache every couple weeks atleast. This will help speed it up also.

I've been using Firefox for ages. Love it! Comes in handy, instead of having 10 windows open, I now use one window with 10 tabs. The other features you get with FF are awesome as well.
