I read once that snoring is related to dreaming, in that those who snore a great deal dream less than those who do not. Is this related to lack of REM sleep the snoring person gets?? While we are on the subject, outside of spending a fortune on one of those crazy breathing machines, is there any other way to help control snoring, as the other person, eg. (me) suffers too bc of the noisey broken sleep. I heard that some essential oils are helpful?? Anyone know anything about that?

I hope someone has the answer, because I too have a snoring husband who keeps me awake! lol I'm ok if I go to bed first and get to sleep, but if he comes to bed same time as me I'm doomed! Funny thing is, he only snores on one side too, so If I manage to get him to turn over in his sleep it stops it! (till he turns over grrr) someone did suggest putting a pillow over his head lol but I love him too much ( at the moment lol).....nothing worse than a broken nights sleep huh :(

Ya, there are all these bogus "Stop Snoring" items like stupid tape to put over the bridge of the nose and stuff, but honestly, the best way I know of to stop a snorer is to get a little upset and say "Hey turn over" while trying to physically turn them over. hehehe

On their back seems to be the worst but on their stomach is best I think and on their sides not bad. But on their backs!!!! GRrrrrr..............

I used to have a snoring boyfriend and the only way I was able to get some sleep if I couldn't manage to make him turn on his side was to put pressure on his diaphragm. It has to be swift and fast ( like pulling a band-aid off ) and he used to take a intake of air and the snoring would stop. At least until I fell asleep myself.
