I have been having the same dream since I was a 9. It used to be every night but now it only comes every once in a while, usually when my husband isn't home. They went on for 9 years and I don't remember having any other dreams during this time. They stopped happening every night after I moved in with my husband and now only happen when I fall asleep in my living room or on nights when my husband is away.

It started with just an image of a floating skull on fire. I would see this every night until I was about 11 or 12. Then it became a full skeleton, still on fire. And it started talking to me. Then when I was 15 or 16 I started having this extremely vivid dream that felt so real I could touch things in it and actually feel every sensation as if I were awake. In this dream I felt myself getting pulled through my mattress, then the ground, and I end up in a tunnel. The tunnel is very moist and muddy. It is very humid and has a very strange smell. The walls look almost like they are squirming. I walk down the tunnel towards a voice calling my name. At the end of the tunnel is a huge cavern. The bottom half of the cavern is fire, with flames that take the shape of humans. They look like they are in pain and they reach up as if trying to escape. Above there are more caves like the one I stood in. A bridge extended from the opening of my cave to an island type thing in the center. A man in a long, dark cape stood there. I walked across the bridge to the island and the man offers me a seat in a chair next to where he stood. This part of the dream continued for a few months, then he started talking to me. I finally got to see his face. He looked like a man. He had white hair, but he wasn't old, he was very pale and had smooth soft skin, and beautiful, but creepy bright blue eyes. He was very sexual in his conversations, and being a teenage girl with raging hormones, I didn't mind. He was also someone I could confide in and I felt like he was someone who cared about me. I was very lonely at the time and I was in an abusive relationship with a 20 year old. (I was only 16). One day about a month before I turned 17, he started asking me to "join him" forever. He was trying to get me to kill myself. After I refused to kill myself he became violent and threatening, then turned from the attractive human form to the firey skeleton I saw in my earlier dreams. I dreaded falling asleep, and tried not to. But then I started to see him and hear him while I was awake too. And my sisters and several friends claimed to see him, but I had never told anyone about them. I broke up with the abusive b/f and things got a little better for a while but I still had the dreams. They started again very strong after I started going to church a lot. Then I met my husband and everything pretty much stopped. I still have the dream occasionally and the mans voice still talks to me occasionally, but things are pretty much settling down.

Well thats a relief uh? It's one thing to be a nice, handsome young man making you feel good, but once it becomes a flaming skeleton I'm not sure anyone would be into that. Good that they dreams have subsided. Maybe thats a good sign telling you that you made the right choice in partner this time uh?
